Funeral Consumers Alliance of Minnesota (FCA of MN), an independent, non-sectarian, tax-exempt organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, is dedicated to helping you learn about after death arrangements that meet your needs, your values, and your budget. We work with other organizations to influence changes in laws regulating the funeral/death-care industry that benefit the consumer. Our Vision Funeral Consumers Alliance of Minnesota, a recognized source of information about after-death arrangements, advocates for consumer protection through education, legislation, and direct action. History FCA of MN is an outgrowth of the Minnesota Funeral and Memorial Society founded in 1942 to provide members with a modest discount, at participating providers, for cremation and immediate burial services. The memorial society movement was a consumer-motivated direct response to costly funeral goods and services, and the often unscrupulous, high-pressure sales practices of the American funeral industry. Funeral Consumers Alliance -- National Funeral Consumers Alliance of Minnesota is one of more than 60 state and local affiliates of the national Funeral Consumers Alliance (FCA), the only nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting a consumer's right to choose a meaningful, dignified, and affordable funeral.
